Planning a 2 weeks in Thailand itinerary? Our slow travel adventure took us from the relaxing beaches of Hua Hin to the buzzing streets of Bangkok. This itinerary offers the perfect mix of nature, food, culture, and city life — ideal for first-time visitors or returning travelers alike.
✈️ Flying Qatar Airways to Bangkok: Economy Review
We flew from Atlanta (ATL) to Bangkok (BKK) with a layover in Doha on Qatar Airways. Despite being an economy flight, it was the best we’ve had — excellent service, comfortable seats, and great meals. Starting our trip off well-rested made all the difference.
🧳 Week 1: Hua Hin — Beachside Bliss & Local Culture
After landing in Bangkok, we took a private taxi (about 3 hours) to Hua Hin, a coastal town known for royal history, night markets, and a relaxing pace.
We stayed in a quiet Airbnb just outside the city center — perfect for slow mornings, market runs, and evening strolls.
🗓️ 7-Day Hua Hin Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival + Sunset Beach Walk
A gentle start with a sunset stroll along Hua Hin Beach — quiet, clean, and perfect for walking.
Day 2: Grocery Shopping + Night Market
We stocked up at Lotus in Market Village Mall, ideal for travelers staying in an Airbnb. Later, we visited BLÚPORT Hua Hin, a resort-style shopping center with cafés and boutiques.
Hua Hin is also full of cozy coffee cafés — perfect for reading, cooling off, or people-watching.
That evening, we wandered the Hua Hin Night Market, trying grilled seafood, mango sticky rice, and fresh juices.
Day 3: Monsoon Valley Vineyard
We drove out to Monsoon Valley Vineyard, where we toured the vines, admired panoramic views, and enjoyed a delicious lunch. It was calm, scenic, and unexpectedly one of our favorite days in Hua Hin.
Day 4: Phraya Nakhon Cave Hike
Located in Sam Roi Yot National Park, this half-day adventure involved a boat ride and hike to reach a royal pavilion glowing inside a collapsed cave. Completely worth the effort.
Day 5: Thai Massage + Pool Day
We recharged with a traditional Thai massage and spent the rest of the day poolside.
Day 6: Cicada & Tamarind Night Markets (Weekend Only)
Art, live music, street food, and handmade goods — these weekend-only markets were a blast.
Day 7: Anniversary Dinner at Vana Nava Sky
We celebrated at the Vana Nava Sky Bar & Restaurant, perched atop the Holiday Inn Resort. The panoramic views, delicious food, and modern vibe made it a night to remember. There’s even a glass walkway for thrill seekers!

🚗 Back to Bangkok: Welcome to Ekkamai
After a week of beach life, we returned to Bangkok and checked into our Airbnb in the Ekkamai neighborhood. Tucked just east of Sukhumvit, Ekkamai is an ideal base for slow travelers — walkable, trendy, and packed with cafés, stylish restaurants, and relaxed nightlife.
You’ll find boutique malls, a Japanese shopping alley, and great transit access via BTS Skytrain. It was the perfect mix of urban energy and local charm.
🏙️ Week 2: Bangkok — Culture, Food, and City Life
With 7 days to explore, we had time to dive into Bangkok’s iconic sights, food scene, and unique neighborhoods — without feeling rushed.
🗓️ 7-Day Bangkok Itinerary
Day 1: Grand Palace & Wat Phra Kaew
We kicked things off with Bangkok’s most famous landmark. Arriving early helped us beat the heat and crowds.
Day 2: Wat Pho & Wat Arun
We took the ferry across the Chao Phraya River to explore these two iconic temples. Don’t miss climbing Wat Arun for a stunning view.
Day 3: Chinatown Street Food Tour
Bangkok’s Chinatown is a food paradise — roast duck, handmade noodles, and desserts we couldn’t pronounce but loved.
Day 4: Ayutthaya Day Trip
We took a full-day tour to Ayutthaya, the historic former capital of Thailand. Highlights included Wat Mahathat (home to the famous Buddha head in tree roots) and Wat Phra Si Sanphet.
👉 Tip: Bring a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water — it’s mostly outdoors and very hot!
Day 5: ICONSIAM Mall
Luxury meets local food at ICONSIAM, one of Bangkok’s most impressive malls, with stunning architecture and riverside views.
Day 6: Chatuchak Weekend Market (if you’re in town on a weekend)
This enormous market has everything from vintage clothes to souvenirs. Bring cash, bargain politely, and pace yourself!
Day 7: Rooftop Bar at SEEN
We ended our trip with drinks and dinner at SEEN Rooftop Bar. With skyline views and a sleek vibe, it was the perfect send-off.
👉 Note: SEEN has a strict dress code — check before you go.
🏡 Where We Stayed
We booked Airbnbs in both cities:
- Hua Hin: A quiet neighborhood just outside town, near the beach
 - Bangkok (Ekkamai): Great access to BTS, with cool cafés, local eats, and a calm, local vibe

If you’re looking for comfort, space, and flexibility, Airbnb was a great choice — though we’d love to try one of Bangkok’s boutique hotels next time!
🧭 Final Thoughts
This 2-week Thailand itinerary gave us time to slow down, dive deeper into the culture, and enjoy a balance of nature, history, food, and city energy. From sipping wine in Hua Hin to temple-hopping in Bangkok — and that unforgettable rooftop dinner — every day had something special.
Whether you’re a first-time visitor or returning traveler, we highly recommend this slow travel approach to Thailand.
